Xpedite Launches New Service Enabling Companies To Securely Deliver Large Volumes Of Sensitive Data To Customers Via E-Mail

secureMAIL Automates Delivery of Encrypted Data Directly to Recipient’s Desktop

Jun 30, 2003

Tinton Falls, N.J., June 30, 2003 - Xpedite (www.xpedite.com), a business unit of Ptek Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTEK) and a provider of automated multimedia messaging services, today announced the launch of secureMAIL, a highly secure e-mail solution for the automated delivery of personalized, variable information. The service was developed to meet the surging consumer demand to securely receive information directly via e-mail, such as credit card and bank statements, lab results, trade confirmations, pay stubs, invoices, etc. According to a recent survey by research analyst firm Greenfield Online, 5 out of 10 online users want to receive their information directly to their inbox, and 80% of respondents want to access their information offline, a key attribute of e-mail delivery.

secureMAIL combines patented technology from PostX Corporation, a leader in secure electronic communications solutions, with the power of Xpedite’s e-mail messaging platform, messageREACH®. secureMAIL wraps sensitive data in an individualized, encrypted “envelope” that is sent as a password- protected HTML attachment to an e-mail message. secureMAIL messages are delivered via messageREACH to any computer desktop, and no recipient or end-user software installation is required. Once the recipient password has been authenticated, the message is decrypted for viewing without the need to download information, so it can be read either on- or off-line.

“Our customers, particularly those in the financial industry, have told us that many consumers prefer to have information delivered directly to their email inbox without the need to search a Web site or go online,” said Rob Mainor, President, Xpedite. “Xpedite’s solution enables our customers to take advantage of our years of experience in order to securely push information out to recipients in the format that they prefer. By sending data electronically via our secureMAIL service, businesses are able to meet customer demands without adding extra overhead.”

The secureMAIL envelope can be customized with the sender’s logo or other marketing messages. The service also can be used in conjunction with other company communications, such as providing customers with password-protected access to their encrypted statements within the body of an HTML newsletter. Messages can be archived to capture delivery history and linked to a company’s customer service function via a Web interface. Document open and click-through tracking is offered, as well as tools for managing bouncebacks and replies.
