(NYSE: PGI), a global outsource provider of business process solutions, today announced it has signed a strategic agreement with LegalSpan, Inc., a private Austin-based company that provides the platform for nearly 90 percent of American state bar associations to deliver online continuing legal education (“CLE”). Under the agreement, LegalSpan has integrated Premiere Global’s audio and Web conferencing solutions with its online CLE services to deliver a content-rich online CLE solution to legal professionals throughout the country.
Certain state bars require that active attorneys keep current on the law by taking mandatory continuing legal education courses in order to practice law within certain jurisdictions. With a new integrated online CLE solution, LegalSpan and Premiere Global offer attorneys access to distance learning courses from the convenience of their office or home, eliminating costly and disruptive travel time.
To provide the new offering, LegalSpan integrated its online registration, Webcasting and database management with Premiere Global’s audio and Web conferencing services via Premiere Global’s open application program interface (API) architecture. Benefits of the new integrated service include:
+ A registration process that utilizes personal identification numbers for entry into conferences, validation of participation and security.
+ Educational content recorded as audio files that are available for download to LegalSpan’s online system and CLE-to-Go service.
+ Rich reporting mechanisms that provide real-time access to completion and credit information for tele-seminars, webinars and seminars downloaded through LegalSpan’s CLE-to-Go Service.
